The projected increases in the geriatric population raise questions regarding the capacity of the regions physician workforce to respond to their needs with up-to-date knowledge and clinical skills. This report reviews the current status of geriatric medical practice and training in WNY and CNY, and proposes opportunities to support or stimulate improvements in geriatric medical education.
